AOL to cut about 700 jobs

Time Warner Inc's (TWX.N) AOL will cut about 700 jobs, or 10 percent of its workforce, as it copes with an advertising slump, in a move that could make the slimmed-down company more attractive to possible merger partners like Yahoo Inc (YHOO.O).

I started to whip out a not so nice giggle on this report, then I remembered back to the old days when I was running a BBS and AOL grew from a BBS not much bigger than the one I was running into the little monster it has now shrunk to. Puts things into perspective.

Everything is getting gobbled up these days! Guess it will be me, next!
