I don't know where I've been but just discovered searchme.com in my stats and thought it was pretty cool when I visited. I used some major keywords for a couple of my sites and I'm showing up right by the top. I haven't explored much more than that but will.

How long have they been around and where was the press?

When I got to one particular result, and as I clicked the next result to show it, the previous result asserted itself to scroll back into view and be the main displayed result.

I've found this too (Chrome) the view bar / arrows respond to clicks, but also to mouseover - so if you want a stable view, you have to click then move the cursor well away from the navigation.

More annoying is that when you open the page, I need to click on the search box to start typing, even though it indicates that I should be able to write straight away.

Plus with some searches (?all) there's a transient 'pop-up box' - but it disappears before I can get to pull it into plain view - Chrome shows pop-ups at the foot of the screen, all that shows is a bar saying 'blocked popup', which you can then drag up if want to see it.

I see nothing like that on FF, however.

I see that too. Safari. So not surprising then.

transient 'pop-up box'

thats what contains the text "snippet" / paragraph ..which in my case is all the page text there is ..and it shows it as dark text on white ..about 14 pt totally readable ..with my pics at 1/4 real size and sharp ..they just got my entire page in miniature ..clear as day ..

Loeosghost: Can you privately tell me which page you are talking about. It looks to me like you have about 5,000 domains registered in the name of your US attorney. Without knowing which one you are talking about it is difficult for us to know the best way to deal with it.

Been following SearchMe's progress. I really like it. I suggested they add Google search results but they've no plans to use it. Which is understandable. I'd reckon i'd use it a whole lot more if the results were 'better'.

All: We are going to be offering a html version of searchme for people who either don't have or don't need the flash UI. If you have a moment and could check out the internal version, I'd really appreciate your comments. It is at [lite.searchme.com...]

Thanks,

No title? No snippet?

Just the URLx2, one clickable.

It's so 'lite' that you can't help but think about the quality of the search ... with no gimmicks to offset, they do look a little weird!

I'm afraid that with no title and no snippet to warn the searcher the spammers would have a field day! My apologies to any spammers on this thread ;->

I take that back. I did more searches and many results have only the URLx2 1 clickable.

I do like the lite version... I also like the flash version. Being able to click between the two is nice.

It doesn't like admitting it cannot find something.

I tried [googlepack drops staroffice], and it just loops back to the home page.

However, if I search from a results page, rather than the home page, it confesses "sorry, your search did not return any results"
