Is there such a thing?

Having several content sites, I figured my sites would do quite well in the search engines if the e-commerce sites weren't included in the results. It seems like a search engine for content sites only would be a big hit. Is there such a thing? I've never come across one.

You'll need to start by using a CGI scripting language such as Perl.

I wrote a basic one in Perl that works well. It indexes all HTML files on the site and prioritises things like title tags and headers.

I might give you a copy if you can get yourself Perl working on your server.

Exalead [exalead.com] has provided this as a feature for a while. They allow narrowing of searches to 'non-commercial' (it isn't perfect). They've done some very good things over at Exalead IMO.
