Hey all, I haven't been posting in a while, but I come bearing good news, and I have to repeat it. After never getting my site into Excite. . . And pretty much loosing my listings in all search engines, I am now at #1 on Excite under my key search term! I dont know when they updated, but today was the first time I saw tons of Excite referals. Later all!

Congrats klaw07,

Is the traffic as much as you expected?

Excite traffic is good for me. Keep it coming.

I'd guess they must have a pretty good user base with all that advertising going on.

Are there any recent and decent stats on Excite out there?

Ditto. I have a page that's been in Excite forever, traffic is good, so somebody is using it. Here are the rough percentages since May of this year.

Yahoo = 24%
MSN = 22%
Excite/WebCrawler = 12%

One of the things I've been noticing about Excite traffic is that compared to Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL, I see a higher percentage of phrases, and a lot fewer single word referals.

Not sure if you can generalize on that or not, but it seems to suggest a more savvy searcher, on the average.

Yes, the traffic is very nice! I have heard this said before, but I will repeat it. I am pretty sure Excite picks its #1 positions. . . This is because I only get refferals from the one search term, or the term backwards. Example: "Nice Shoes", "Shoes Nice".

Well....I'm now #1 on Excite, and top 10 in Lycos....This is so weird, because I have always done well with ODP related engines, and google, and had trouble with Alltheweb and Excite. But now this site is doing the opposite.
