When did that happen? Sure enough, search on GO, get straight, co-branded GoTo SERPs. I've seen no mention of a buyout, but some sort of arrangement has obviously developed.

And welcome to WmW, Vishal!

Nice Vishal - welcome.

That is wild. I can't find nothing for a press release or comment on either site.

Oh, that's sad. At least Disney didn't kill the domain outright... wonder what will happen with that?

They couldn't just let her die...
What a sad fate, infoseek is reduced to a goto zombie.

No, Infoseek has ceased to exist:
"Netscape is unable to locate the server www.infoseek.com"

Go has become the zombie. Which (IMO) is an awful shame as well, given the amount of traffic they sent us.

Goto sued them out of existence and now takes over the remains. And now the wild thing, is that Goto keeps saying they are going to change their name and rebrand. Fought for the logo, and now going to dump it. Nothing like snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Mivox, they zombified infoseek too now.

Probably all a conspiracy to get their engine noticed. So much for the funeral service that was held here...

Excuse my English it is not very strong.

From what I read Mickey Mouse still owns Go.com and decided to use Goto's results instead.
From my point of view Go.com history in Disneyland is totally absurd. They had one of the best search technology (Infoseek) right on top of a trashy portal called Go. They decide to kill the portal because people dont care about it and only use the search box. Then they decide to revive the trashy portal with the less pertinent search technology there is.

I hope Infoseek ex-employees to raise enough cash to buy Infoseek back from thoses Bozos.

Hey Macguru,

your English is perfect, but my French is a whole other story! So you don't need to apologise.

Anyway, I agree with you about Infoseek. It would be great to see it up an running again like it used to. Crossing all fingers, toes, eyes...
