Dear GO Guides:

As most of you now know from our announcement this week, GO.com will
cease operations at the end of February 2001.

As part of our transition to close, access by the GO Guides has been temporarily suspended - primarily because we do not have resources to change the directory. We hope this suspension is brief. GO is currently exploring the possibility of selling all or part of its assets, including the search and directory function. As a result, we do not yet know how the GO Guides community will be impacted. Please be assured, however, that we view the GO Guides to be one of the site's most valuable assets, and are hopeful this important community can continue under new ownership. The management of GO is grateful for the many contributions of the
GO Guides. Over the last 18 months, many of you have taken part in one of the most unique experiences and online phenomena ever existing on the Web.

Nowhere else has a portal allowed each and every one of its users to actively build and participate in creating the products and services they used on a regular basis. The end result was a community that rallied around setting standards, resolving conflicts and, most importantly, how to work together interactively to build a directory
bigger than all of us.

The GO Guides team and GO Directory staff send their heartfelt thanks for your efforts.

We will keep you advised of developments as they occur related to the GO Guides' future. Thank you for your patience during this time.

Thank you for sharing that. Has anyone else been contacted about possible refunds on sites?
