PHILADELPHIA, Jan 11 (Reuters) - Web search company Mamma.com Inc. (MAMA.O: Quote, Profile, Research) said it was not aware of any developments that could account for the 47.5 percent jump in its share price on Wednesday, but one strategist said the rally was based on takeover rumors.

Stories like this also give it a boost, imho.
From article:
"But the recent sales of AskJeeves and About.com at relatively high prices -- and the success of search advertising -- have sparked speculation that even the smallest Web search providers could be takeover fodder for media and technology concerns."
I think we can expect to see specialty search such as tech and news search engine consolidation. There seems to be alot of innovation there and in the last few months we have seen Blogster, news.net, etc sell for over 100k.
