sucked every page onto there server, by the look of the site they then store the site on there system and sell the info onto others, anyone had anything like this hit there site?

They've been around for a long time. They're the same sort of thing as Turnitinbot - supposedly looking for copyright violations etc, but sucking back bandwidth in the process. Deny them in htaccess if you can. If you can't, they're just a bandwidth-stealing pest, not a scraper.

thank you, they don't obey robots.txt, these kind of people really give me the willies. I have baned there ip range and sent a email to them but no response.

If it's any consolation, they're just corporate spies, not people about to use your content in webpages of their own. Lock them out and you'll have no further problems.

And of course if you ever meet one of the people behind these scumbag ops at a conference, knock them on the head and take the dollar bills from their wallet. When they ask, tell them that you are monitoring the use of the number 4 for your clients. :>

nice idea, if ever the opportunity arises, in the mean time they are advertising that they monitor sites using so called patented software looking for IP infringement via scanning and sicking out site content, wonder if there clients know they can be effectively blocked out of a site and made useless.
