A couple of months ago I posted this link [researchbuzz.com] which stated that Deja was going to sell of their usenet engine and become primarily a consumer review / shopping site. It looks like the opposite has happened - [deja.com ]. I'm glad they changed their mind. It seems insane to carve out a domination in a market and then abandon it.

Ahhh Usenet.

I remember back in the early 90's a one of my friends used to exchange tapes of usenet discussions every week, add his comments and exchange the taped information back for his KSU contact to upload to the boards. He also "got" his email that way.

At the time, he didn't have internet access, but he was an expert of Unix/ Mainframe stuff, and he answered a lot of questions for other people using...sneakernet. My how things have changed.
