It has been sinnce three-four days that the Alexa toolbar does not dhow the Traffic Rank.

Is is still possible to see the Traffic Rank, but it's necessary to click on No Data.

Is it temporary? Is my toolbar that doesn't work properly?

I do not konw why, but I got this message:

We're sorry but you do not have permission to access null. Your IP address, #*$!.xxx.xx.xx, has been blocked due to a possible violation of our Terms of Service.

Is there any reason?

Alexa's information is pretty meaningless, why would you be concerned about it?

It's only a measure of those using the Alexa tooldbar, which is statistically insignificat IMO compared to Google or Yahoo toolbar use.

More importantly, I never understood why people would clutter their screens and machines installing that nonsense but then I don't get screensavers either.

Now for why you're blocked, that's new and different, have you been trying to drive up your own Alexa stats and got caught?

Not at all!
I have a wireless at my home and I suspect that somebody else used my connection.
I wrote toi Alexa, just as curious.

I use the alexa data only to evaluate sites. I know that it is not perfect but it's an indicator.

alexa is useless other than to check what your site looked like a year ago they rarley up date there cached snapshots and how many normal people have even heard of alexa let alone have the toolbar, and i dont even think they have one for firefox yet

Alexa is no where near perfect, and an unreliable indicator of a sites ranking at that... I'd look elsewhere if you're truly seeking worthwhile data.

bobothecat,

so where else would you look, if not Alexa?

I don't :)

To be honest, the only way you're truly going to know another site's traffic rank is to see their server logs/stats, and most savvy Webmasters aren't going to make something like this public, or known without a non-disclosure.

Other than that... it's sheer guessing - which Alexa does badly (in my own opinion).

heh. ok, so if there aren't any other Alexa-like sources, then we just have to use Alexa with the caveat that it can be inaccurate.
