Search Engine Allowing Wildcards?

Does anyone know of a search engine that will allow you to use wildcards? For some searches, I would find this to be extremely useful.

Example: technolog*

[ByronM]

In search engine lingo this would be stemming or clustering. You can PM me if you want to try it on my search engine.

You wouldn't really get any good results by doing wildcard through regular indexes as it doesn't translate or scale at all in such a fashion.
