AOL plans to expand the advertising appearing on its search page, the article said. It will also use the unusual approach of charging advertisers based on how many telephone calls are generated by their ads.
So it sounds like more ads per page, probably like Ask Jeeves has. The telephone call thing sounds like FindWhat's new offering.

An improvement. The Hot Searches is cute. Oddly, when I do a query in FireFox, the top site/URL in the SERP attempts to write a cookie (without any action by me).

I used to like google, until I noticed myself consistently going back to Yahoo to get some quick news clips and weather all on one page.
The SERPs are marginally the same.
