Submitting today to Excite, looks like the free submit section is gone (unless I've missed this lately):

They just made it harder to find... if you look in the left hand navbar on the page you listed, there's a link for adding pages, which leads to a page with a link to this page:

[excite.com...]

Everyone's trying to avoid free submits like the plague, now that they have paid submission partnerships... Getting kind of annoying.

It's like they are hiding the free submission links. You know they really shouldn't do that on a Friday...too tired to hunt it down. ;)

So true. Thanks for sending me in the right direction, much appreciated.

Moving it messes up the auto-submit programs, too.

Right. Bet we'll be seeing more of this as time goes on.

I somehow think messing up auto-submit programs is increasingly the secondary purpose of cr@p like this (secondary to encouraging paid submissions)...

"If we make it impossible to find, and move it every other week, they'll all give up and use our paid submit. If they pay, who cares if it's spam or not!"
