Finding lyrics to songs

I have a small business client, that is often asked which title/artist belongs to a certain song. I was wondering whether there is an authorative source where one can type in some of the lyrics of such a song and get a result set of possible songs it could belong to? One can assume that most lyrics will be in English.

I very rarely come up empty on lyric hunts. I just take a snippet of the song, plop it into a search box at the SE je jour and slap a set of quote marks around it. It's simple, it's fast,it's free ...three endearing qualities of a search. 8^)

It's a good idea to disable active-x when surfing for lyrics or NOT use IE. Some of the sites out there serve drive-by downloads - no charge, compliments of the house.

Thanks for your responses and it seems there is no one site that would facilitate this feature. I was kind of hoping a search engine out there would have a tab, next to "News", "Images" etc, called "Lyrics" to accommodate such searches.

I also want to direct your attention to [musicphone.com...]
whose products have been rolled out in some countries outside US.
