Jini Search, have heard of em, but someone has registered the Jini Search domain.

Will they make a comeback? Does anyone know this engine's rep?

It was also known as jsearch. Though the people in the UK & Ireland Search Engines Forum would be better able to fill you in on the history of this particular search engine.

If I recall correctly, it was based around a browser add-on that was keyword based. It advertised (mainly late night/early morning) on regional UK television. However it never seemed to live up to the claims. The index was derivative in that it seemed to be culled from other search engines in a form of meta-search engine operation.
