Nothing new - but nicely done and fast. Gossip tab is a fun idea.

It's vivisimo. It's very nicely done, IMHO. Nice find.

When I first went to the site, I did the web search and thought this is just the same as vivisimo, so dont really see the point,

BUT (and a big one)

I then tried the news search and thought being about to cluster by story, source or section is pretty good. Then for the image search of being able to cluster by size, name or type is quite handy. Then also for the shopping and encyclopedia sections - a really good implementation of clustering (even if the data is just bizrate and wikipedia alone). Then they also have options for clustering searches on ebay, slashdot + blogs.

This is easily the best use of clustering for different types of content i've seen by far.

From the copyright and favicon I gather its owned/run by Vivisimo but not sure.

Don't forget it is still in Beta.
The clustering is a nice feature, still a little slow, we will see what happens once they move to the next release.

Anyone know what name their spider takes on in logfiles?

They have no spider - their results are meta-search results from se's.

It looks like they are using LookSmart's index and sponsored listings. Then they present search results in organized folders with Vivisimo's clustering technology.

I beleive that it is some type of marriage between the 2 companies, they really want a piece of Google.

I really like their logo. The search results are cool - but nothing earth shattering IMO.

Does anybody else think that the name sounds a little strange? Like something the doctor would say: 'yes, well, your legs feel that way because you've got clusty'?

gf says the name reminds her of 'crusty the clown'

The great thing about the name is the site title.

Clusty the clustering engine.

It sounds like a kids book.

Better result for my main keyword then G or Y.

I like it.

Vivisimo simply changed its name. They announced a distribution agreement with LookSmart last month. The name is a bit goofy but the first time I heard the name Google I thought it was quirky.
Both grate the nerves less than IceRocket or Dipsy.

It looks like they are using LookSmart's index and sponsored listings.

It doesn't look like Looksmart results to me, both the index and the sponsored listings look different.

How do you get tp get listed on the clusters? I seems that the more pages you have indexed, more chances to get liosted as a cluster.
What do you guys think?
