This summer, I regularly searched Google News with the terms "Search Engine" and besides the plethora of articles on SE optimization and Google IPO, I noticed quite a few new search engines coming out this summer.

From the What It's Worth Department, here's a list, definitely incomplete, of the new SE's that came out this summer. Non-link format. Only 3 of them made it into my Favorite's Folder.

- BuzzSeek .com - home based business search engine
- Tygo .com - search engine giving away $5 million in advertising.
- CasinoCareers .com - casino career search engine
- InvestSeeker .com - PPC
- ThomasNet .com - Industrial search engine
- Anoox .com (Already discussed here, nonprofit SE)
- DentalSeeker .com - Yep, you guessed it. A search - engine for the dental industry.
- PoleJumper .com - "next generation search engine"
- Kozoru .com - "Natural Language Search Engine" Got $3 million in funding already
- SignPostX .com - Travel search engine
- FindSeminar .com - Seminar Search engine
- Recommend--Auction .com
- GeekEngine .com - Looks like a Google Clone
- seekgeeks .com - Redirects to jumpat, PPC
- SearchGeeks . com - PPC?
- OmniMedicalSearch .com - Medical metasearch engine
- Izito .nl - Dutch Search Engine
- ask .jp Japanese engine by some start up company called Ask Jeeves
- EcoSeeker .com - "caters to the online green industry"
- 5thAvenueWoman .com "world's largest women's search engine portal"
- icerocket .com - came out in April but recently received verbal support and $3 million (?) from Mark Cuban.
- newslookup .com - News Search Engine (not too shabby)

I'm sure there are lots more that came out. I know I am forgetting a European SE. Can't remember the name of it tho. Lot's of SE's with Geek and Seek in their name. - Go figure.

On an unrelated note: I'd like to see a trade Magazine (printed) for SEO and Webmasters. I get tired of reading all the SEO/webmaster stuff on my computer.

I'm glad to see some more specialist 'vortals' being created. Now that's helpful!
