Interesting New SE

It's still slow and small though

"Objects Search is created with a combination of our search technology and open source search engine nutch [nutch.org]."

They also have a "Clustering Engine" feature available (it's a beta) which "categorizes search results on-the-fly into hierarchical clusters." It's reminiscent of Northern Light search. I like it! But it didn't like my Opera 7.23, requires IE or Mozilla. BOO! ;)

Nice idea.

Only open source search results can be fully trusted to be without bias. (Or at least their bias is public).

But if the algos are public knowledge doesn't it mean that they can never get very big or they'll attract spammers by the millions? Isn't that why Google keeps it's algos secret?

I had to use google to find the link. Doh! ;)

The results look similar to google's ... from the design pov ...

Should be pretty easy to get #1 - old school / brute force seo will do the job.

The first search i did for the main one word query related to my niche returned this at #1:

http://www.keyword-keyword-keyword-keyword.co.uk

No joke!

The second one word query i tried returned this at #1:

http://www.keyword2-keyword2-keyword2-keyword2.co.uk

Again, no joke!

Useless.

Thanks for your input. Nutch is only in beta mode. It will keep getting better as developers at nutch.org and our company are working to improve it.Feedback from users will also help.

Some users worry about ranking formula being public. This is very interesting topic and we and nutch developer team at nutch.org is full aware of this.

Gald you like Clustering Engine too.It attempts to overcome the problem of information overload.

Our server are currently slow but the nutch search engine is fast.We will add more and fast servers soon.
