I don't know exactly when they did this, but here are the statistics:

URLs: 73,413,596 to 104,575,953
Documents: 10,175,600 to 14,788,223
Links: 235,827,329 to 361,123,735
Sites: 4,534,845 to 5,636,129
Hosts: 4,953,369 to 6,178,538
Categories: 138,194 to 138,194 (remain the same)
Words: 65,008,510 to 83,328,962

the results are getting better now...this might be a engine to watch..

Might be an engine to watch, once they graduate from 'university research' to business.

The folks in the project seem very savvy, imho.

Unique words I suppose, as an average of less than 1 word per page sounds quite worrying ;) 83 Million unique words though, quite a handful.

Well slap me silly.. I went to yuntis.com LOL totally different. However I have to say that I like the "real deal" much better.. my.. there is tons of information and if this goes commercial.. look out! Even I list better there than on Google whoohoo :)

Something just came to mind after you said you went to yuntis.com..

When Yuntis does become commercial, which domain are they gonna use?

As yuntis.com appears to be registered and according to whois, it doesn't belong to the university, they have several options:

Pay some $$$ and buy off yuntis.com from the current registeration holder (which they might do)

register yuntis-search.com and use it as a temporary domain until yuntis.com expires (which can take ages)

Theres no way at all they are going with the long university sub domain to be in commercial land.

Another thing, the current yuntis.com appears to be a version of ASPseek - and a mirror site of searchspider.com, so don't confused:

That's funny that you mentioned checking whois.. I did the same thing. Guess I was hoping the university owned it as well. Perhaps they can use .net that's not taken. Whatever the case, if they do decide to go commercial with this, I agree that it will definately be an engine to keep your eye on. The information for each listings they have are pretty interesting.

One thing though.. when it does become widely available if it does.. they'll definately have to work on explaining everything in lamens terms so average Joe Surfer can understand using Yuntis to it's full potential.
