myway.com is giving me a few visits a day. It's a meta engine where you can search different sources incl. Google.

On your radar?

Yup, steady, not insignificant trickle, mostly due to good google rankings.

Also on the radar here - just a reuser of rankings so not really worth thinking about.

Daily traffic, but small. 30 out of 14000 yesterday on one site.

On my radar too. Especially for my pop entertainmenty type sites.

True enough, however it would seem that another portal is establishing itself. That's no small feat. I get more Myway referrals than I do Lycos referrals and Excite refs combined. :)

Agree with you Brad - MyWay is making steps forward - however I don't think it can make the big time without its own results.

Also starting to see a trickle pretty regularly. Nice to see, it's a good site.

I've noticed them in my logs lately. Not a lot, but enough to notice.

Nice to hear a bit about them.

I've been seeing them too, but on a very small scale, near Altavista, which I guess is a pretty big feat given they're new.

I'm guessing their increasing traffic is due to their spyware toolbar:

scumware.com/apps/scumware.php/action::view_article/article_id::1063294991/topic::Scumware,-Spyware,-Adware-&-Malware-Applications/

I've been removing this quite a bit lately on folk's PCs.

or bundled with filesharing programs such as KaZaa.

Yeah - this is why Windows folks need to stick with Kazaa Lite K++ for now:

EEWWWWW. This is one of those page-jacking programs.
Symantec [symantec.com] has them listed on a Security Response page:

Behavior
Adware.Mybar is an Internet Explorer toolbar
that has a search box. It can also be a Home
page or search page hijacker, which is targeted
at mysearch.com.

Transmission
Adware.Mybar can be directly installed from
the Web sites mysearch.com and myway.com. There
are also several known programs that have Adware.Mybar
within them and that install it as the program itself
is installed....

When the adware is executed, the toolbar can
change your Internet Explorer home and display
advertisements.

I wonder what the conversion rate is on these surfers?
If they're clueless enough to follow a page-jacked link... :p

It's weird, though. I'm getting referrals from them as well.

I don't like the idea of spyware toolbars. That is not a good thing. I hope they let users uninstall it. Very short term approach.
