Is it worth the effort?

Is there anything new going on with this trio?

Nope, nothing new to see, though members were reporting that WiseNut had updated recently.

Bad news is they no longer have any numbers on their # of pages indexed, so my guess is, it is *much* smaller than any of the "major" engines. ;)

If MSN were to buy this property, then it could be a killer combo to watch out for.

Not 100% sure on what your question is, but if you're asking is it worth being in these databases then I will say it is absolutely worth being in Zeal.

Can't comment on the other 2.

If MSN were to make a purchase, I am 100% sure they would have done so already before letting the best ones get snapped up.

Aside from that, if you take a stroll through the LookSmart SEC filings, it appears the company is doing *great* on their own, and the mindless (imho) speculation of buyouts are giving them a valuation that one could argue is uncalled for, given the ability of MSN to "opt out" at any time wiht their contract with them (or rese their search allocation...).

Espotting / FindWhat has *far* better international reach, *if* MSN was going to make a purchase, that would be the one to go for.

Just checking because I started the Grub client again..

The Grub crawler I know people werent to happy about 6 months ago because it was ignoring robots instructions. but seems thats been fixed..AND I do know for a fact(well In that I see no other way I got there) that using grub will get you listed in look and wisenut...I had it set to "local" crawl.. one of my sites .. and sure enough they are in both .wisenut and look..

I guess my question is .. is it worth it..because the traffic (1rst page lsiting.. nice search numbers) are light..

speculation wise ..anyone ever going to pick them up.. Yahoo, AOL etc.. will todays's efforts ever be rewarded working grub, Zeal and look/wisenut

Imaster was headed in the direction I was looking at..MSN though? Ummmmm

I think it is worth being in zeal. On MSN it can help you come up under "web directory sites" which are listed before "web pages".
