I want to say Goodbye to Adsense.

I want to say Goodbye to Adsense....it all started ok in 2003.
In the meantime, what Adsense is paying out is getting ridiculous.

1. all ads are competitors - so I am sacrificing my own customers.
All other ads pay hardly anything.

2. I feel like wasting money every day - so many impressions and clicks from the United Kingdom in the field of "dating". On Adwords you need to pay 70 pence to get a decent amount of daily traffic. But what I get paid is a joke.

I need non-competitive ads with a decent CPM.

Any ideas? If there is someone out there who wants to sell my adspace, let me know - I would even pay 50% commission if the CPM is good.

I have 7 million monthly page impressions and about 50,000 clicks (United Kingdom)

I don't lnow your numbers but
- 50.000 clicks on 7.000.000 pageviews is a 14% CTR (too much)
- 50.000 clicks for, lets say, 10c are 5.000$/month (not so bad, man)

Without know your site I can adventure myself to say you should concentrate your efforts in your website and build new content or services or anything to do it more interesting for them and have a competitive product.

Or maybe you could live with this state of the web and make a life sending traffic to competitors. It seems you know how to collect traffic better than them.

50,000/7000000 = 0,71% clickthrough rate. 5000 USD would be too low, this is only 0,70 USD CPM. I want a CPM of at least 3 USD, better 5-8 USD.

Grab a time machine and go back to before the internet bubble burst (1999, maybe). Or make your site a finance site.

Those 2 would probably be the best way to get a CPM of over $1.

Seems like it depends on the market. I am trying to do other things as well, had no idea what to charge so I went with $15 - 20 CPM and am almost filled because the sections are extremely targeted on pages that have top organic rankings.

Sorry to hear that. Why not try to put an "your ad here" on your site? I get X clicks a day via Adsense, but my regular ads get 50X click a day.

p.s.: I am back at 3,00 CPM now! but only by removing Adsense from parts of the website with low click rates.
