300 X 30% is 90. So on a 1,000 donation the most you get is 90.

Wonder which way they mean it. The cap is on the commish or the size of donation?
I mean compare that to a $1000 computer purchase or jewlery purchase where the commission is typically only 1-5% (a lot of times only of net).....

I was approved without review. They had it set to automatic, but they must have changed it. Odd though. My affiliation is set to expire today, and I just signed up a few days ago.
I think the agency running it (it is an agency, a direct marketing agency) is scrambling. I think that they are in over their heads. I have half a mind to send them a link to this thread to help them get a clue. ;) Perhaps Catalyst could email them and offer her consulting services?

I thought about contacting them cuz they seem to need help, but I'm launching 4 new huge big name clients right now, so I'm too busy. Plus I'm not sure I want to deal with politicians. ;-)

But, that ad *is* in violation of Adwords guidelines.
"If you are an affiliate and are paid to send traffic to another site or a distributor, you must identify yourself as an affiliate or a distributor in your ad text. "
Also, they're using a redirect. Is that allowed in Adwords?

Apparently their agreement doesn't stop some affiliates. Check out the Sponsored ppc links...
It seems foolish to throw away money on pay per click when the merchant specifically states that they will not pay commissions generated by search engine marketing. If the merchant reverses all those commissions, the affiliate has no one to blame but themselves. This is a classic example of poor evaluation of risk and reward.

Oh, I don't know. If the merchant is clueless (as this one seems to be), you might be able to get a few months commissions out of them before they catch on. I've seen merchants who disallow ppc marketing, and then will go weeks or months even without even looking at their own SERPs to see if anyone is following the rules. Too busy, not enough help, so no one monitors. It's a risk, but not one that is terribly risky with adwords caps.
I still say they mean no search engine traffic, period. I wish I could post the welcoming email, but it seems pretty clear in that email that they want no affiliates who get traffic from SEs what so ever.
