Advertising - targeting content

I have a site that has content relating togames and hobbies. Can anyone recomend a company that will pay me to adverise and target that subject really well. I would like something that also looks good, I think with the type of stuff there attractive banners would be good.
I am not real knowlegable about this so ask if you don't understand the question please.

I see other websites with banner adds that would be acceptable but how do I find who provided the adds? I guess they could be just banner exchange and not for profit.

Doing a little research on your part will help. Contact companies that you think will benefit from advertising on your site. Provide them with a way to track their campaign. You can always find out where a banner is being provided by, using your status bar. Just place you pointer over the banner and your status bar displays their location. I use this all the time. It's the quickest way.

I guess you are exaggerating when you say 'everything' is for profit, or maybe you mean profit is indirectly involved.

You may give a try on contextual ads such as adsenses. You may also do a search on this forum. There are so many related topic.

I agree that everything is about profit. Even you are not looking for profit, but the one provides you banner exchange might wants to make a profit.

Maybe research some of your keywords, and do some marketing first.

They're the 400lb gorilla of online ads.
