changing commission junction link code

I've changed the text code, will that effect tracking?

Hi,

my site is informational so I dont like the promotional wording of most publisher text links. I have changed most of them to "click here" at the end of an article. I have about a 20% click thru rate but conversions to sales is very low, like 0% so far after 300 clicks (its a new site)

I was wondering if changing the wording of the text link effects tracking. But I'm also thinking that if CJ is able to track my impressions and click thrus then there is probably not a problem.

If you can bring some light to this I would appreciate it.

Thanks
Murray

No it doesn't effect tracking, although it is recommended that you ask permission from the advertiser (although I have never).

Its sure dont affect tracking 1Spirit , i never used the same link text as given by the advertiser :) , i even dont use the link to the CJ 1 pixel image that helps to track impressions

If you're planning on changing the text it isn't a problem.

When I put up CJ Links on my sites I use a generic merchant link and use the advanced generator to point to whatever page I need.

If you think you're links aren't tracking, just go into the run reports area on CJ and check for inlvalid links generating traffic.
