Have 7 stories to tell on LinkedIn, dribble them out?

Wondering if there is a best time to drop a story into the LinkedIn feeds.
I am assuming perhaps early in the working week.
And perhaps one a week?

Ahhh, there's a tough one.
It's worth thinking about when your target audience is likely to be around. The more people that are around, the better.
Early in the working week can be a challenge as everyone else is vying for attention at that time.
Seven stories at one a week is a fair schedule, unless it's news and timely, in which case, just get it out there.
I used to find greater success on Tuesday's or Thursday.

Oh I think I may send one a week, I don't want to bore my network and at this stage I don't think I will boost them (whatever the terminology is in LinkedIn?).
engine you say Tues or Thurs, what about Wed, bang in the middle of the week, did it not do well?

Taking an average over a long time (two years), Tuesday and Thursday got more traffic, clicks and comments than other days, Wednesday was next best, but not far behind, Monday and Friday appeared to be the worst.
We could never get a 100% handle on it as every story was different, and that's why I took the average over time. Others may have different experiences, of course.

Well engine I am a LinkedIn beginner so I will try Tues & Thursday.
First try today didn't go well, plenty of exposures but not one yet clicked the link to see the actual article.
It is a learning process!

Oh, right, well, I don't want to get your hopes up, you may find you get very few clicks. LinkedIn is a bit like that. Also, it's holiday time for many right now.
I've always got more clicks on twitter than LinkedIn.
Good luck with that, and keep us updated on how you go.

I find twitter seems populated by "people like me", and less like my target customers.

The story I shared last week has now had 600 views and 10 clicks. It is a little limited but I do think there is potential. Most of my own LinkedIn contacts are recruiters so not relevant as targets for these particular communications but it was also shared by a colleague who has more on-target followers and we plan to continue that with the next of them.
I am tempted to try one of these vouchers.

Start following the contacts your colleague has, where possible. It takes quite a while to build an audience. Remember, also, to like, and to comment on other's that are posting relevant stuff.
There's no easy answer as it will take time.

You should post on weekends....

@HazelNuts, why weekends?
I have been posting the stories on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday and they seem to be doing ok. Never more than one story per week. We have had website visitors from LinkedIn since, and their bounce rate is lower than other classes of visitor.
I am going to try the sponsored boost as LinkedIn is showering me with $50,00 vouchers to try it. Will depend on how targeted I can make it I suspect.

I'd keep doing what you're doing. You are getting good results so I wouldn't try to fix what isn't broken. The vouchers give you a good way to see if it might improve - without much risk.

I tried sponsored boost, Initially at a low cost per click, for the first day nothing occurred. I upped the bid and started to get impressions and clicks.
The budget was quickly used and the program stopped. The cpc was high vs bing or adwords, so high I didn't trust it - to spend our own money.
So, that is that - visitors from LinkedIn retain the lowest bounce rate and highest minutes per session which is interesting.

Yes, very interesting, and thanks for the update. Is there any way you can run a survey of some sort to profile the type of audience you have? By running the survey you can help identify which sectors work, and then replicate that across the different social media platforms.

Hi @engine we are technical and B2B so, while LinkedIn has relevant members, I am not sure other social media will be relevant.

@engine. I have a problem with these weekly stories on LinkedIn, in that we have been doing it for quite a few weeks now and we are about out of stories! :-/

@Mark_A hehe, yes, that can also be a problem in keeping up the momentum. Keep creating content to retain visibility.

Keep the pipeline filled. Consistency eventually pays off, even in areas where traffic has a tendency to view but not engage. Anything at 10% or over is REALLY good results.
