LinkedIn Passes 500 Million Users

Microsoft's LinkedIn just released figures stating it has grown to 500 million users in 200 countries.
It doesn't go into further detail about how many are monthly active users, but it does have a graphic showing which are the "most connected..., countries, places, industries, and job functions."

It's clear that recruiting and human resources feature highly, so if you're looking for a job, or seeking a candidate, there's opportunity there.

10-20% seems like a lot, I can't say I have come across fake accounts.

Some which someone has started but then not completed certainly.

Are they actually fake accounts or are they incomplete or even duplicates?

Fake implies static to me, no?

Huh. I was thinking 10-20% actual users, and the rest are people who haven't realized how easy it is to close a LinkedIn account. (Unlike certain other social media one could name...)
