i'm seeing large swings in the serp's i think there's an update just begun,
looks like i've lost more links on this update than last which is quite worrying i'm going to have to look in to those drop outs a lot more closely for my key destinations.

They don't want to admit it, but Y! spiders can't handle 301 redirects properly, either that or if the URL is linked to from other sites, they may delete and update it when you 301 it, then re-index it again once they pick it up from other sites again and again...
Precisely the reason "I assume" I have two sites that are no longer in Yahoo's index, because they were both site-wide 301's. Who knows though, with Yahoo's lack of support I will never know nor do I care now that both of those sites are on new domains specifically for Yahoo and only Yahoo.
both of those sites are on new domainsmay be on spot and with the age and links of your domain I would expect the same thing to happen to your sites as well.
About 10 months ago I shut down a little used forum and placed a holding page that reads "The widgets forum has been closed down as it was relatively unused by anyone but spammers, my efforts will be better spent writing great content instead of fighting these spammers daily. If you were looking for a widgets forum or to discuss blue widgets, red widgets or green widgets, you can head over to (competitors site), our appologies"
Today Yahoo! ranked that holding page 3rd out of over 3 million for the term "widgets forum". That page is getting more traffic than the rest of the site from yahoo! I fear launching the forum again since this ranking will undoubtedly not hold when the page changes...
Bit late, but they finally confirm it [ysearchblog.com...]
I think they are rolling out another new update..I am seeing a little bit of a shuffle since the update last week.
