Hello-

it depends of the motivation , of using a subdomain. Does it make sense, from a content point of view? A legitimate usage of a subdomain is when the content is related to the main domain, but different enough to deserve a subdomain on its own.

If it's to "trick" search engines, in a way or another, this won't work.

@ishwarmahajan ... Welcome to Webmasterworld!

As noted, there should be a valid reason for having a sub-domain. I personally avoid them unless it really makes sense to do so!

as I read lot of articles since last month I thought taking a backlink from subdomain is bad tactics. my personal opinion to you is to go through the subdirectory rather than a subdomain. Neil Patel has written in his article that if the subdomain will pass 60% of link juice then subdirectory pass 90% link juice to the main or root domain.

Any game play to create or generate "link juice" will eventually fail. The SE's are getting smarter all the time ... and the many algo changes that have happened over the last decade are proof of that.

Use a sub-domain if it makes sense. Else, why divide/dilute the site?

Good practice and good tactics are different entities.
Is a subdomain a good tactic to juice and anchor money pages? Totally. Is it risky? Totally! Is it good practice? Totally not!
Are subdomains good to use as an area to segregate content that is not required on the main domain? If it makes sense for your users or your own structure agenda then it would be good practice! Would it be better on a subdirectory probably.

Is it a good tactic to use a sub directory to juice and anchor money pages. Yes. Does it work. Totally. Is it risky? Yes!

Does providing top banana awesome content to your users that provides great value and links naturally with keyword rich anchors across your site sound better or good practice! Totally! Make your choices and understand your risks. There are many ways to skin the cat. I know what I would do out of them. Focus on your user and the basics then rest should come together for you.
