Hi,

I have a blog and each article I upload I populate the article with seo keywords

but where do I populate keywords for the wesite as a whole

for example if I write an article about green hats then I write green hat numerous times. but if I want the whole website to rank for "children clothing" - where do I populate seo KW? in "about"? or "homepage"?

pls let me know

thx

It doesn't work like that.

Let say you could convince Google that your site is about children's clothing, but then all your pages show are green hats. Then user would come to your site, and leave because they would not find what they are looking for. To prevent this situation Google matches the "keyword" that the user is searching for to the content on your page.

If you want your site to be about children's clothing then create pages that show and are about children's clothing.

Indeed the theme(s) of a site has/ve to be "guessed" from its individual pages. So if you want your sites to rank for children cloths, you need to have pages about hat for children , but also other kind of cloths for children.

Your KEYWORDS are for the ARTICLE. After all, it is the CONTENT that g (or other SEs look for). Obvious keyword stuffing is ignored these days.

SEO has changed since 2003. And if too obviously done can lead to penalties (ie, not being listed in the serps).
