It’s been a bit of a roller-coaster ride for many in Google SERP’s in the last few weeks, and it seems it’s continuing, with many reports coming in describing changes affecting sites across the World. There’s an ongoing war between Facebook and ad blocking software. First, Facebook proudly announced it had found a way around the ad blockers. No surprise to learn that the ad blockers soon found a way around Facebook’s changes. The battle continues.
Flash is to get less airtime for users as both Firefox and Google Chrome said they will block Flash content. Users will be required to activate Flash Player if they wish to see Flash content.
Google AMP continues to get more airtime with the latest demonstrations of where and how it can be used. There’s a great deal of discussion over AMP, and whether it ought to be part of a webmaster’s original plan for a site. What’s your view: Should you produce AMP pages from the outset?
