Hi guys.

I'm looking for some basic information at first about how to go about performing basic SEO (for a start). Are there any links to resources that anyone could provide?

Kind Regards

Chris

This isn't SEO specific as a whole but this is a great guide on steps to take to help build a successful site.

There are many great SEO ideas

One of my favorite "How To" website promotion threads.

In no particular order, I would recommend reading every page (yeah it's a lot) of these websites:

[googleblog.blogspot.com...]
[google.com...]
[help.yahoo.com...]

You've come to the right place to learn about SEO :)

To read some of the excellent threads here you can view the forum libraries - the very best tends to get archived there for people to get easy access to.

A site I like which isn't necessarily solely SEO-related:

All I know about SEO is...rough estimate:

60% Google Webmaster Guidelines
20% other resources, mostly from WW and other forum sites as well as personal conversations with other webmasters
20% hard-earned experience from my own websites

In practice, it's always the last 20% that make the difference ;)

Happy webbing!

[seomoz.com...] is a good.
They also have a good beginners guide: [seomoz.org...]

[sphinn.com...] is a news site like reddit and Digg that is exclusively for SEO, so most of the best articles and stories end up there.
