It a bit complicated but here goes

1, this involves 2 new sites

2, attempted to use permanent redirect(301) from index.asp to default.aspx for various reasons.

3, sites currently use default.aspx as homepage on IIS6/windows 2003 servers

4, msn hardly spiders either site

5, both sites have links from top rank directories and msn ranked sites in same industry different niches

6, both sites have been online for 2/3 months with only default.aspx indexed/cached an initially a copy of the redirected index.asp indexed/cached

7, 1 site then loses the redirected page, good!, both sites still with only homepages indexed,

8, both sites now fully indexed on other major SE's

9, I decide to experiment by deleting the redirected page from the site which had retained its cached redirected page

10, homepage of site in 9 above now vanishes completely from msn, no indexed url , but, the links stilll show

Okay, this is not a rant, an rants are not invited,

MSN listing is very important to me, an so I am hoping to here only suggestions on how to fix this. My other sites are nicely indexed on msn so this appears to be an exception
