I have a slideshow based on the jquery cycle plugin at [conklin.com...]
The first slide is a picture of a couple with a baby outdoors in a field. When the slideshow first loads, in Chrome and FF, if you click the back link on the second slide (guy on roof), the first slide shows the content until it's completely loaded, then it goes blank. This remains the case until the next slide loads automatically. Then you can hit the back button and the first slide is okay. On IE 8 a similar thing occurs: using the back button causes the first slide to be skipped over entirely, the show goes to the last slide in the sequence, which is a picture of a woman planting flowers. This seems to happen only when the slideshow first initializes, if you let it go through a full rotation then you can go back and forth all you want and everything shows up okay.

Here's the parameters I set in the page header:
<script type='text/javascript' src='/system/js/rollover.js'></script>
<script type='text/javascript' src='/oldDirectories/jquery/slideshows/js/jquery-161.js'></script>
<script type='text/javascript' src='/oldDirectories/jquery/slideshows/js/jquery-cycle-all-min321.js'></script>
<script type='text/javascript' src='/oldDirectories/jquery/slideshows/js/jquery-cookie.js'></script>
<script type='text/javascript' src='/oldDirectories/jquery/slideshows/js/script.js'></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
jQuery(function($) {
$(function() {
fx: 'scrollHorz',
//Internet Explorer needs this to run
next: '#next',
prev: '#prev',
//IE also must have timeout in last position or it screws up
timeout: 7000

}) //no semi-colon

Does anybody know how to fix this?
