Seems like things froze up about mid-day here. Wonder if there are some reporting delays but no red bar just to keep us guessing. Ads are all over the place so that could be part of the problem. Haven't seen any take backs but this is uncharacteristically off, even for a Saturday.
I set up a database and can just copy and paste the performance reports into it. Clicks increased until about 10pm (PST) when they started to be dragged back. Peak was 14. Then 13. Now it's 12. All from the bottom banner. This is almost completely isolated from the rest of the pages and is almost always lower in both clicks and CTC from the top banner. $8.07 was peak "earnings" now down to $6.90.
I recommend that everyone who is getting clicks dragged back keep track of what product, how much, and time. I am using Linux with a not taking database called "cherrytree". Works pretty slick.
Ok... my site has done a 180 and is now doing as well as, or better than, it has ever done in terms of traffic, clicks and earnings. Not only that but for the first time since last summer we are under 1 million in Alexa ranking.
But something is still "up" with clicks and scrape-backs. Not to the extent it was in February but it still exists. But it does look like it's more reasonable now and actually just scraping back accidental clicks and not everything.
I am going to start another thread about closer monitoring of performance reports.
Watch for clicks on high bid ads. On my site yesterday I noticed that any CPC that was suddenly higher than other bids for different ads on the same pages was invariably called back. This was not the only reason, however. I had lots of 29-cent clicks taken back but in general every suddenly higher CPC was deleted.
Monday ended up at half of last week, one of my lowest days of the year. Significantly the USA was way down in click volume and earnings nearly in third place.
How Google will make money this way is beyond me
I've come to the conclusion they don't want many of us now, heaven's knows how they can justify their new USD $1 Billion building in London with this type of performance but, then again, obviously someone must be spending and earning!
Yesterday was my best day ever but it also felt like it was the result of a click dump. Was just coming off a 36 hour stretch with zero clicks wich is also abnormal. CTR and CPC were all normal for yesterday. I seem to get regular click dumps each monday these days.
Although my data is scanty, I think I'm seeing some sort of pattern where all the clicks after about 7pm get rolled back so that, at the end of the day, whatever we had at 7pm is what we end up with (plus a few pennies for "impressions").
