PageRank Update - Jan 2007

Google PageRank appears to be changing - has anyone noticed their Google PageRank changing? For the last 2 days my PageRank appears to be dropping by 1 but then at other times, it appears as the same as it's been for the past 2 months.

I've checked other places and they say the old PageRank but maybe we're on the verge of another PageRank change?

Anyone notice this?

I have had a page rank drop but again as many of you have posted position has not changes as well as the number of backlinks registered.

If this is a glitch or a temporary thing until the update is over then how long would it be before it is fixed?

Wht has changed this time which has brought down not just normal but high profile sites too?

I look after a few sites and have noticed the sites which have dropped to pr0 are only the ones which made a significant pr gains on the last update. I haven't seen a drop for a site which did not gain last time. Sites which did not gain pr on the last update seem unaffected. Anyone else noticed this?

Not exactly.

Some sites that I monitor in fact lost 1 point PR in the last updates or gained 1 point; other just mainained the same PR...

I think that at this time PR bar is not stable...

Here in italy, checking www.google.it it shows PR 0 in some datacenters..

This is possible.

Mine went 5 to 6 last time...

Another thing: listed backlinks are up (1/4) this time maybe another consideration.

Yea, ours went from 4 to 0 but we are still getting a ton of google traffic. Has to be a glitch!

My sub directory "free web directory" - a recip links dir is still strangely zero'd - although the internal pages of the directory have a PR 2.

Are they cracking down on directories?

EDIT ***SORRY! All directory pages have been zero'd.

Perhaps to stop people selling this kind of thing?

Although i am still seeing two different results (at least) using seo tools.

For guys who has their sites PR0, there is nothing to worry about. My PR8 site went PR0 as well but as long as I see a good increase in backlinks in google using the link: command, I am more than sure that this is a glitch. Needless to mention that traffic has never got affected with the TLPR update.

Also, another site of mine was PR5 and has a subpage of PR6. When I checked, I found out that things are the same. But then again checking backlinks for this site I saw very strong backlinks that has to raise this site PR to atleast PR7.

Finally, a third site has its PR unchanged but got its inner pages PR, which wasn't the case before the update. Amazingly, some of the inner pages still has PR0 although very deep pages has PR4-5.

I think the backlinks update is stable somehow now in google datacenters. But it's obviously that the snapshot of the toolbar has a glitch.

I'm sure this is a glith - <url edited> is PR0 at the moment - if you read Matt's blog you'll see why I mention this as an example.

<Note: the edited url pointed to the site of a new Google employee's famous father>
