Refer to this earlier 2007 thread for some history:
[webmasterworld.com...]

"The (Australian) consumer watchdog has lost its case against Google that claimed the company engaged in misleading and deceptive conduct by not properly distinguishing between ads and regular search results."

From Todays SMH.

Actual judgement (Government site) [austlii.edu.au...]

Actually the table color looks pretty good and "Sponsored Links" is also seen. That case and the screen captures were from 2007, but good luck now, Google has innovated :)

Hi Walkman - the case started in 2007 - but the judgement was only just handed down today.

ChrisD, I know. But look at the screenshots back then (bottom of their filing) and today. Quite different in background color and label, that's why I said Google has 'innovated.' Dare we wonder if the color now was chosen to get the most clicks, while making believe it's not almost white ;)?
