Two PHP scripts are needed for two different tasks.

1. Allows access to a web page or a subdirectory of a website only via a login. Something like this ( [devshed.com...] ) and an associated reference ( [mtdev.com...] ). If a secure login could be done without using a database (e.g. storing the allowed usernames and passwords in a text file located in a protected directory, etc.), that would be even better.

2. Produces a single page XHTML/CSS form specified by XHTML/CSS that I would provide. The form's data/text would ideally be read from a standard XML text file which I would provide. The format of the form is extremely simple - one row per form item.

Example Form Layout

text_1a ... text_1b ... [Quantity Box for data 1]
text_2a ... text_2b ... [Quantity Box for data 2]
text_3a ... text_3b ... [Quantity Box for data 3]
text_na ... text_nb ... [Quantity Box for data n]

Where 'n' (the number of rows in the form) will vary depending on the number of data/text items provided in the associated XML file.

The PHP script is to produce each 'row' in the form (as seen in a browser) via the PHP script reading an external text file (an XML file) that I would provide.

The idea is to enable a non-programmer to add and delete 'rows' of items in the form by simply altering the associated text file and uploading/FTPing the text file.

*** Note that the scripts will be used on a home made website that is hosted with < snipped specifics > ***

*** Some mentoring regarding how to write the PHP associated with these tasks would be appreciated. ***
