My Google AdWords Select story

How it is working for me, a ongoing story.

I've always wondered how advertising pays off, and if advertising on google would also pay off.

I contacted google back in the day about advertisement only to hear it was a 2500 minimum a month to keep it going with them so i laid off of it.

Once they rolled out their adwords select i figured id give it another go.

Not like I really needed to advertise the site, there were many people linked to it but heh what the h3ll. we like google and maybe ill buy someone lunch over there.

The decision:
I wasn't going to advertise blindly so I setup a plan for myself, the goal was to push a product we had for sale.

Would advertising with Adwords select pay off? As it stands we have played the adwords select game for about 10 days.

The plan was to see how many products would sell ($) compared to click costs. If we did not sell anything or meet what we sold within the first month we planned on stopping the campaign until we could figure out a different way to market it.

The keywords we chose roughly 10 or so, each @ the lowest click cost got us 20998 impressions of our banner. Out of those impressions 150 clicks.

I am glad to say within the last 10 days we have had a few orders come from what people describe as the 'search engine' (aka google) which got us about 100.00 in sales.

Sure it is not a lot of money but compared to the cost Google's Adword Select program is working out for us, we are still doing the 30 days as planned and plan to keep you up on it to see how it goes.

In this campaign we are changing the wording of the advertisement constantly.
