1/ Chose some fairly low competition keywords which i found using word tracker and google sandbox.
2/ Used an individual page to optimise for each keyword focusing on the main content and the title tag.
I put the keyword... at the start of the title tag, as the first word in my content section and thoroughly throughout my content section.
I also added the keyword at the start of each page heading, all headings are in the <h1> tag.
3/ Added outbound links on each page that point to high ranking sites for that keyword.
4/ Added an index of all the pages on my home page.
5/ Added a link to each new page on a different site relating to my industry.
I have thought about removing my text frames but i am not sure if this would improve my ranking.
I decided to use the methods above for just 1 keyword, so i could test how well things worked before doing the same for every keyword.
I got a position 10 google ranking on the first page for that particular word and have since done the same for a few other keywords, now i am waiting for the SE to index the new pages.
I know what i have done is fairly basic but as i said the keywords are fairly low competition.
Obviously getting other sites relating to my industry to link with me would help but this is proving very difficult.
If anyone has any ideas on how i can improve on what i have done i would really appreciate it.
