Paypal has not yet broached Asia - it does not offer language support for any Asian languages. However, having said this - paypal is now incorporated into the Taiwanese ebay. Persons cannot sign up in chinese, but there is a guide to using paypal on the taiwanese ebay site.

Why they don't just offer chinese language support on the paypal site, I do not know.

I cannot read chinese. Perhaps someone that can would be kind enough to look at this and let me know how good this guide is. I am thinking that if a chinese native speaker wants to pay me through paypal - perhaps i can refer them to this guide.

I have read elsewhere that some websites in Asia have written their own guides to signing up for Paypal in Japanese, Chinese, Korean etc.. Such that non-english speaking persons can pay them through paypal. Perhaps someone would be kind enough to point me to a website that has such a guide(s). I haven't been able to find any websites with such a guide myself.

I may even start researching preloading of forms. Such that the asian person can perhaps fill out my form in their native language on my site - I then use this data to preload the earlier forms on the paypal website. This is only a fleeting idea - security issues with the paypal site probably prevent this. Will let you know how i get on.

The mainland chinese ebay website (Eachnet) has no such paypal functionality. In china not so many people have credit cards and the banking system is very complex. More of a headache for paypal than with taiwan.

Would be very interested if native speakers could fill me in on the payment methods possible for the mainland Chinese, korean and Taiwanese ebays. There of course being no Japanese ebay.

Does anyone know of an e-mail money service in Japanese, Korean or chinese? Perhaps they could sticky me if the moderators will not allow any urls. I have found a couple of asian e-mail money services - but they only have cantonese language support.

Surely in Korea - with its high credit card penetrance - they have some kind of korean e-mail money service?
