Happy New Year.
Seems weird. It's like that on about 5 websites. They all show no backlinks at those two data centers only. I imagine it would be some sort of penalty, but I'm not sure what it would be for.
I hope these results aren't real
They've been appearing on Google.co.uk for the last half hour now, pretty much 100% of the time.
We've had episodes recently, though, of new backlinks results appearing and then being sucked back into the Googleplex a couple of days later never to reappear.
The look real to me on all of my sites - pretty much what I'd hope for in respect of the work I've done on some (and not on other) sites of mine.
May you live long for posting 1000000...
Best wishes for 2005 for you and your family
my own PR ..sorry my website pr has been updated on two datacent. i am just hoping for the best
Do you mean your rank in the search results?
Or do you mean the rank in the green bar?
Newb question, but how do you check the pagerank of a site on a particular datacenter such as 126.96.36.199?
For windows, add this line to your hosts file:
The hosts file should be in Windows>System32>Drivers>Etc for XP. Or do a search of your system.
Also, I'm of the opinion that having too many outbound links on a page may be causing a decrease in PageRank.
These are my early observations.
Go to your windows folder on your hard drive
Locate the file named Hosts (no extension, just Hosts)
Using Notepad or some other plain text editor, open the Hosts file
add this line to it:
Save the host file as All Files back to your Windows folder (What works for me is to save the file name as "Hosts" (using the quote marks)
Once you save the file, your G Toolbar will only use
that particular datacenter. Once you're done, reopen hosts file, slap a # at the front of that line, or just delete that line and save the file again, the same as you did before
