A majority of discussions about affiliate programs revolve around physical product-based programs (of course not all do -- like credit, finance, insurance, etc.), but I would like to get some feedback on what people here think about Pay-Per-Sale Affilaite programs for Classified Ads.

>>Pay-Per-Sale Affilaite programs for Classified Ads<<

Did you mean to start your own classifieds forum with affiliate program included?

If you create your own system, how would you control sales that occur outside of the system where affiliates never get paid?

I believe you could always have referrers to classifieds. Like, if I would subscribe to specific section, monitor received ads through email, and if something interesting comes up either respond or forward to a friend. That would be pay per click rather than per sale.

Otherwise, all ads have telephone number in there and sales happen outside of the system.

I am not sure if I understood the question correctly (but I tried :)).

Thank you for your response, and sorry about the confusing post. Let me try and re-phrase this better:

BACKGROUND: I have a site that sells classified ads, and I have an affiliate program for affiliates to promote the site, and thye earn a commission from any classified ads that their visitors sign-up for.

QUESTIOND: Because most 'per-sale' affiliate programs are product-based, I wanted to get peoples feedback concerning a classified ad affiliate program?

Are there particular problems with this type of a 'product' or site that are good, bad, or otherwise?

What could be done with this kind of site or program to make it attractive to professional affiliates?

I guess no responses means no opinions...or it's just not that interesting of a topic.

One other thing I forgot to metnion about the site is that the classified ads are for cars...not sure that this makes a difference...

If there's enough $$ in it, I know I'd give it a try :).

I think that there is good money for affiliates who would join this program -- otherwise it would not make much sense for me to have an affiliate program (i.e. nobody good would ever join).

Although, I must admit that I am curious to what your opinion is of enough money?
