I love Webmaster World, but I would like one added feature.

A few months ago, I posted a question about AS3. Checking back on the forums today, I saw that my post still existed unanswered. So, I wrote the answer as a follow up, so that users with my same problem could eventually find the answer. But, by doing this, my post moved to the top of the page, and bumped down all of the other posts.

If a "Problem resolved box" existed, then my post could have moved down on the page, and allowed unresolved problems to come to the top.

I think that this feature would work better if only the original creator of the discussion could mark it as resolved.

Thanks for all of the improvements!

Hi there MartinWeb,

Nice thought, even just a 'problem solved' - or just 'solved' would be a nice touch, then at least all posters would know that the thread was done with and could be archived.

Cheers,

I hate that feature for one reason... although the topic might be marked as 'resolved' there might still be more to say.

Take a look at any "answers" type site. I see a lot of questions with incomplete answers but which are marked 'resolved' and therefore locked to any extra posts being added.

The web is full of incomplete user-generated content, locked forever and unable to be corrected. Historians are going to love this.
