Redirect to current page after login

I was browsing some threads and decided to answer one. I was not logged in and so I logged in but after login I came to some control panel page. Luckily I had the thread in another tab, could refresh and then answer it.

I suggest that you are redirected to the current page after login, perhaps with a note at the top that you are now logged in.

As an extension to this it would be helpful if when you are receiving emails about replies to a thread if the link took you to the last post on the thread, not the first post as it currently does.

Cheers

This is a feature that gets my vote. Currently a little annoying that the login doesn't redirect to the current page.

Thanks

Yes, I agree with both Jim and Hissingsid. Other forums manage this simple trick.

Having just experienced this problem, I definitely agree with Jim and Hissingsid. This will also likely increase participation, which benefits the entire community.

Yes. Long overdue IMO. But will all will be forgiven if you can incorporate this into WebmasterWorld :)

Good god yes! Sometimes I don't realize I'm not logged in, I command-click 12 links to open them in tabs, then I go to read those tabs and realize they're all Login pages. So now I have to go back and choose the threads I want to read all over again. Really frustrating.

Ditto.
I was thinking of starting a thread on this very topic - then I found this.

A very good suggestion.
