When I am in a thread, there may be updated posts to it. Can we know when that happens?

When you reply to a thread, you can check the box for "Email notification of new replies?" (with the Quick Reply box) or "Do you want an email notification of new replies?" (when you click on the "reply to this topic" link.

Is this what you mean?

Sorry but no. I sometimes find when I am replying I take a while to actually post. This can push the response away from the post it refers to.

That wouldn't really be possible without reloading the page. One option might be to open the reply window in a new tab, then refresh before you post to see if another post has been added to the thread.

Mack.
