Syndicating my articles in another directory/online encyclopedia

Is it worthy to add your articles to another site (PR 6)

I run an internet portal, which contains, among other stuff, an encyclopedia explaining meaning of few hundreds key legal terms related to topic of my portal. All the articles in my encyclopedia are without any duplicate content.

Recently is started cooperation with a different free encyclopedia. The cathegory which I edit has PR 6, it is without a single article, but is related to topic of my portal. So my plan is to add articles from my encyclopedia to this other site, each of them with a link to my site in order to show source of the quoted articles.

According to my knowledge and understanding, it shouldn't be considerd as spamming this other site, because articles are even more detailed and valuable than most of articles in the site I plan to list them in, but I have some questions regarding possible influence of such situation on my portal, specially if:

1/ it can hurt my ranks due to duplicate content filter? (Despite fact that my articles are few months older than reprints in the other site);

2/ it can help me by increasing number of incoming links?

Thank you in advance for any anwsers.
