Over the past few months we have gotten a number of U.S. business registrations from accounts at a certain domain. (So as to not out any company, I'm not going to supply the domain, but it starts with v and ends in mail- if you've gotten the same type of registrations, you'll know who it is.) The email addresses are usually companyname@v*mail.com and the IPs are from Bulgaria, India, and many other non-English speaking companies. But the businesses seem legit, so we've decided they are most likely registrations being made on business directories by an offshore SEO company, so for now we've been allowing them.
A few months ago, we started getting user registrations from the domain as well. The member bios all give a short, 1- to 2-sentence description of the company, but they never go further and complete a full profile with a company link, avatar, longer description, etc. They never post anything and PMs encouraging them to become active go unanswered.
Today, we have already gotten more than a dozen registrations with usernames (and emails) of [companyname]location, all with the same exact description and all locations in the same geographic region.
I'm debating whether to ban these user registrations. They do nothing positive for us, nor for the respective companies, SEO-wise.
Has anyone else run into these types of registrations?
