Chinese search engine Baidu goes live in Brazil

Chinese search engine Baidu has finally started to operate in Brazil on Thursday, nearly two years after its developer set up an office in the country.

After opening the Brazil office in 2012, the Chinese company started offering free web services in 2013 before launching its search engine. Baidu is the second most used search engine in the world on desktops, with a 16.49 percent market share, according to data from Net Applications. Google leads the segment with 71.04 percent.
