Axe swings at Yahoo7? [australianit.news.com.au]

IT'S carnage over at Yahoo7 at the moment, according to sources within the group.
Interim chief executive Rohan Lund, according to one informant, is "taking a machete" to the place. That may be a dramatisation, but the Seven Group's internet division has changed its chief executive and now its sales director in the space of a month.

These do not appear to be the actions of a happy company, particularly in the Yahoo7 instance. Yahoo7's spokeswoman would not be quoted, but it's understood the company is pursuing a strategy of becoming "the No1 partnership network".

The web portal's unique monthly visitor numbers fell from 5.5 million in January to 4.9 million in August. The company had been tipped to be one to watch after going gangbusters in the second half of last year on the back of several integrated deals also involving the Seven Network and Pacific Magazines.
